Referrals

How can I apply for the Food Referral Programme?

No one should face food insecurity alone. While we collectively continue to understand the issues that lead to food insecurity, our Food Referral Programme ensures that low-income families and individuals are supported by our community.

The Programme welcomes people who are struggling and need a helping hand. By temporarily equipping individuals with basic food items, they won’t need to choose between buying basic ingredients and paying their rent.

Our Food Referral Programme volunteers are ready to provide support to anyone that’s referred.  If you need assistance to help support you with any food-related difficulties that you may be facing, you can get in touch with us by calling us on 01923 372699, or filling out the contact form below.

Our volunteers ensure that individuals referred to them have equal access to food basics.

The food referral process is fairly straightforward. You discuss your current needs in confidence with one of our volunteers and they will then guide you through the next steps.

Together we can fight food poverty in Watford and Three Rivers

The right to food is a fundamental human right. One in five UK households is living on the breadline. 100,000 children lack three meals a day, and 400,000 children go without fresh food or veg at least once a day. [Source: Child Poverty Action Group]

Addressing food insecurity

One Vision is working hard to change these statistics.

The Food Programme (link to food programme page) was set up to offer an additional, temporary supply of foodstuffs to those most in need in Watford and Three Rivers.

One Vision ensures that, by offering this service, vulnerable families and individuals can afford other basics such as rent, fuel, toiletries and sanitary products.
